Butronin is a psychotropic drug whose active ingredient is Methylphenidate, it is used to control the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults and children, as well as for the treatment of narcolepsy (sleep disorder). It belongs to a class of medications called central nervous system stimulants, and works by changing the amounts of certain natural substances in the brain. It is also indicated with psychological, pedagogical and social measures to stabilize children who present a behavioral disorder syndrome, reduced attention spans, hyperactivity, emotional instability and impulsibility.
