This combination medicine is used to treat melasma on the face. Melasma is a condition of dark patches on the face, especially on the cheeks and forehead. It sometimes occurs with hormonal changes. This product contains 3 different types of medicine. Hydroquinone is a reversible skin bleaching agent. Tretinoin is a retinoid that promotes desquamation of the skin. Fluocinolone is a moderately potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness. This medicine may improve your melasma, but it will not cure it. Continued exposure to some of the causes of melasma (for example, sunlight, estrogenic contraceptive hormones) can cause its recurrence.
